Did You Know?
California state ordinance SB1383 requires that divertible materials such as recycling (bottles, cans, metals, paper, cardboard, and glass) and compost/organic materials (yard trimmings, food scraps, and food-soiled paper) be separated from other municipal solid waste. To ensure compliance with SB1383, your project will need to set up weekly recycling and organics collection service for the duration of the project*.

Zero Waste By 2030!
The University’s Zero Waste Plan as established a new waste system that adopts best practices, industry standards, and efficiency standards to ensure all waste is disposed of correctly. This new system, currently coined as the Zero Waste Building System Transition, will not only help us reach our zero-waste goal, but will also reduce exposure to germs and pathogens, keep bins more sanitary, and meet future state regulations.
